Nania Construction is a full-service General Contractor located in the St. Louis, Missouri metro area completing large numbers and a wide variety, of Commercial and Residential Renovations, Turnovers, and Maintenance Projects and Contracts, and we are looking to expand our field teams with 3-4 excellent MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS.

Maintenance Technician Summary:

Our Maintenance Technicians are critical to our ability to keep the promises we make to our customers. Our brand, our reputation and clients' experience working with us relies on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role. A Maintenance Technician in our company is held accountable for the following:

  • 40 hours of a wide variety of Building Maintenance and Repair work completed/produced on budget and on schedule per week.

  • Daily respond to Maintenance Work Orders to perform repairs or assessments of required repairs for our Single Family Rental and Multifamily Rental Property Management and Rental Property Owner Clients.

  • Perform and assist with Turnover and Make-Ready projects for our Clients.

  • Perform General Construction Repairs and Replacements alongside Renovation Crews on Initial Rehabs and Renovations projects.

  • Maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction through all client and tenant and owner interactions and through completed works.

  • Accurate Daily updates to all required administrative tracking and reporting systems.

  • Regular and effective communications with Office Managers, Project managers, and other Crew members.

  • Utilizing training resources and on-the-job opportunities to continually grow skillsets and knowledge base.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience IS Required for this position. But above all, the most important qualification to work with Nania Construction is Flexibility and a Positive, Professional outlook and Attitude.

You Must have a “CAN DO” attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. While a Maintenance Technician will mostly be required to complete Maintenance and Repair work, Everyone at Nania Construction does and is willing to do whatever is needed to complete all of our projects on-time, on-budget, and to the strict standards our clients expect. Qualifications:

 

  • Willingness and desire to continually learn and improve everything we do and how we do it.

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation, ability to commute to various project sites within and up to 50 miles from central St. Louis County daily. 

  • A clean driving record and insurability to operate company vehicles.

  • 8-10 years experience on the job in Facility Maintenance, Home Maintenance and Repairs, Remodeling or Carpentry with professional company(ies) completing high quality works.

  • A thorough understanding of all building systems, and how they work together in residential and commercial buildings.

  • Available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, crouch, work in enclosed and cramped spaces, and are physically fit

  • Possession of or ability to acquire a Basic Maintenance toolset- cordless drills/drivers, hammer(s), screwdrivers, wrenches/pliers, snips/cutting tools, electrical tools and testers, tape measure, squares/levels. Power tools and specialty equipment will be provided but the more personal tools you carry, the more valuable you are.

  • Be independently Motivated and organized

  • Ability to work alone or with others as job requires

  • Smartphone with ability to use multiple scheduling and project management apps, ability to take and send/receive pictures and text messages and emails.

  • Ability to act safely in an active and fast-paced environment

  • Competent knowledge of building codes and standards including experience with typical DIY mistakes concerning proper drain connections, electrical outlets/gfci's/wiring, fireblocking and ventilation, deck constructions, flashing/caulking/insulation/sealants, etc.

  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems and ability to troubleshoot at least low voltage issues such as thermostat wiring, troubleshooting capacitors and blowers, flame sensors, pilot lights, safety switches. EPA certification a plus but not required.

  • Ability to use a variety of drain snakes and cleaners and willingness to work in dirty jobs and emergency cleanup projects.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate PPE and environmental remediation and cleanup supplies and equipment.

  • Fundamental understanding of general overall construction processes and trades.

  • Thorough knowledge of all building assemblies and the problem-solving skills required to make educated decisions to complete repairs of those assemblies within project requirements and budgets and purposes.

  • As a Maintenance Technician with this dynamic and evolving company, it is also necessary for all or Techs to have some knowledge of, experience with, and willingness to assist with and complete, and learn/improve abilities in as many as possible of the following skill areas: Carpentry-Framing to Finish, Drywall patching/repair, Drywall Taping, Painting-interior and exterior, Ventilation, Flooring installation, Tile installation, light plumbing installations/repairs, light electrical installations/repairs.

Your work determines whether we succeed or fail. 40 hours a week is all that we ask, no nights, no weekends, those are YOUR time for friends, family or yourself. But when we work, we are committed to each other and work hard to achieve our goals. 

  • Accurately log hours and job locations and tasks in the Time Tracking App daily.

  • Attend daily meetings with the Maintenance Coordinator and/or Dispatcher and follow their instructions to complete daily tasks and meet daily and weekly goals.

  • Attend all Company and department meetings and come to any/all meetings prepared and ready to participate.

  • Take notes as needed and daily work through a sequential list of tasks as set out by supervisors.

  • Use and store materials properly to avoid waste, shortages, and damage and eliminate avoidable delays in projects.

  • Work as a team and/or individually in an efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame.

  • Provide Maintenance Coordinator with updates regarding customer interactions and progress and status of all work orders daily and when required.

  • Assist other Techs and team members with material and/or tool pickups or drop-offs as required by jobsites.

  • Communicate professionally and clearly with Clients and Tenants and Homeowners to complete all jobs to the highest satisfaction of all customers and clients.

Experience:

Construction and/or Building Maintenance: 5 years (required)

Blueprint reading: 1 year (preferred)

Licenses/Certification: Bonus

OSHA 10 preferred or will provide training.
