Nania Construction is a full-service General Contractor located in the St. Louis, Missouri metro area completing a wide variety of Commercial, Residential, and Public Works Construction projects and we are looking to expand our field teams with 2-3 excellent Painters/tapers.

Nania Construction, LLC is a 12 year old, steadily growing General Contracting Construction company that partners with our clients to develop and renovate their residential and commercial properties to achieve their investment goals, serve their clients’ and customers’ and business needs, or maximize rental property incomes or returns,  or to simply increase personal or public enjoyment of their buildings and properties.

Painter Job Summary:

The Painter is a key part of the fulfillment of the promises we make to our customers. Nearly every project undertaken by Nania Construction includes a Painting Scope which we complete with all in-house team members and crews. The company’s brand, reputation and customer experience rely on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role. A Painter in our company is held accountable for the following:

  • 40 hours of painting work completed/produced on budget and on schedule per week.

  • Maintaining a very high level of customer satisfaction with all interactions and completed works.

  • Accurate Daily updates to all required administrative tracking and reporting systems.

  • Regular and effective communications with Crew leaders, Project managers, and other Crew members.

  • Utilizing training resources and on-the-job opportunities to continually grow skillsets and knowledge base.

 

 

 

 

Experience IS Required for this position as listed below. But above all, the most important qualification to work with Nania Construction is Flexibility and a Positive, Professional outlook and Attitude.

You Must have a “CAN DO” attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. While a Painter will mostly be needed to complete interior and exterior painting works, Everyone at Nania Construction does and is willing to do whatever is needed to complete our projects on-time, on-budget, and to the strict standards our clients expect. If you are a team player and willing to do whatever it takes, below are the other minimum requirements for the job of Painter with us:

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Willingness and desire to continually learn and improve everything we do and how we do it.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • 2-3 years minimum full-time painting OR 5-7 years as a remodeler/handyman type who has painted regularly and often throughout that time with professional company(ies) producing high quality projects.

  • Available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs. and are physically fit

  • Able to climb and work from ladders up to 35’ off the ground

  • Possession of or ability to acquire a Basic painting toolset-including your cut brush and cup/bucket, tools for surface preparations, basic hardware removal and re-installation such as putty knives, mud knives, mudpan, 5-in-1, screwdrivers, and a cordless driver. Roller grids, poles, buckets/pans, rags and dropcloths and tarps, spraying equipment, ladders, scaffolding, walkboards, sanders, misc. other equipment will be provided but the more personal tools you carry, the more valuable you are.

  • Motivated, neat and clean and organized

  • Smartphone with ability to use multiple scheduling and project management apps, ability to take and send/receive pictures and text messages and emails.

  • Ability to act safely in an active and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to Cut in by hand clean lines quickly and professionally for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to remove and reinstall hardware such as blinds, doorknobs/hinges, outlet/switch cover plates, curtain rods, shelving, misc. brackets, mirrors, towel rods, other knobs and pulls, nails/screws/hooks.

  • Ability to repair drywall and plaster in preparation for painting including application, sanding, finishing, and texturing of drywall and plaster and wood surfaces with spackling, fast-setting and all-purpose joint compounds, wood putty and fillers, including joint taping and finishing-ability to make minor to mid-sized repairs is a minimum requirement. Ability to tape and finish large new drywall projects is a plus that will increase your value greatly.

  • Thorough understanding of painting processes including sequences of activities to efficiently produce high quality products. Completing repairs and full preparations first, proper primers as needed, numbers of coats, product types, working from high to low, etc.

  • Basic understanding of general construction project sequences and timelines to correctly evaluate timing of painting processes within entire project timelines.

  • Understanding relationships between basic construction processes to efficiently complete painting work without creating extra work for other trades or workers to clean up or correct by completing proper masking off, protecting  of contents and other finishes from impact of prep. and painting works.

  • As a Painter with this Growing, Dynamic, and Evolving Company, it is also very helpful and valuable (although not required) for our painters to have some knowledge or experience with, and willingness to assist with and complete, and learn/improve abilities in the following skill areas: General Labor-Demo/Cleanout/Materials loading/unloading, complete Drywall Taping, Hardware and Fixtures/Furnitures installations, Flooring installation, Tile installation, light plumbing(fixtures) installation, light electrical(fixtures) installation.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Be on time and produce 40 hours/week. This means not just being present on jobsite for 40 hrs, but earning 40 hours pay through completion of the work that needs to be done and as quickly as a competent painter should complete it in 40 hours of earnest effort. Steady, consistent, honest daily effort and hard work is how we reach our goals. Our daily commitment to small goals allows us all to reach the long-term and larger goals we all have. Your work determines whether we succeed or fail.

  • Accurately log hours in the Time Tracking App daily.

  • Attend daily meetings with the Project Leader and follow their instructions to complete daily tasks and meet daily and weekly goals.

  • Come to any/all meetings prepared and ready to participate. Take notes as needed and daily work through a sequential list of tasks as set out by supervisors.

  • Follow instructions from the Project Lead and Project Manager to complete daily tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Use and store materials properly to avoid waste, shortages, and damage and eliminate avoidable delays in projects.

  • Work as a team and/or individually in an efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame.

  • Provide the Project Lead or Project Manager with daily updates regarding any customer interactions, when required.

  • Assist with material and/or tool pickups or drop-offs as required by sites.

  • Double-check all work with the Project Leader or Project Managers to proactively prevent deficiencies.

  • Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays.

  • Report any damaged or lost/stolen tools to Project Leaders and/or Project Manager.

  • Help set jobsites up for opening/closing and/or adverse weather days or absence.

  • Always maintain jobsite appearance and street presence, with a priority on public safety and cleanliness. No Smoking on properties, jobsites kept and left clean and free of trash/debris at the end of each day, tools and materials organized ready for the next day.

Schedule:

8-hour shifts Monday-Friday approx. 7-3 or 8-4 depending on project.

8 hour workday, Paid lunch break.

Major Holidays off.

Experience:

Painting: 2 years (required)

Taping: 2 years (recommended)

Licenses/Certification: Bonus

OSHA 10 preferred or will provide training.
